  1. Hi gents, as above really. I'm looking at doing a few touch ups and was wondering if VW specified the colour of primer as I'm guessing it will a significant effect on the top coat shade? Thanks!
  2. Hi mate, could you give a guide price for your 'charger? Thanks!
  3. :notworthy: Amazing finish! Looks great!
  4. For those of wavering sexuality who need to drive heavy "manly cars" to remind them that looking at that guys biceps is not OK...look away now :D For those with wives, kids etc and therefore, secure, here's my experience of driving one...... So, took a 1994 s2 out for a spin, it had a "Mountain" chip which puts it just north of 200bhp. It's an Isuzu engine and toyota running gear so ultra reliable, looks lovely in the flesh, but the wheels don't fill the arches enough for me, anyway, boring engine note but so quick and light, handling is, I'm sorry to say, in a different league to the C [but it's a different animal], it's an over used analogy but it really is like a go kart with perfectly weighted PAS. The boot is waaaay bigger than an Elise and not far off the C under the parcel shelf...and it has drop top [didn't try it, a tad cold :)]. Interior was much larger and more plush than an Elise and better built than a C, but you still get the faint whiff of Fiber Glass resin :) I know that a Corrado forum is the wrong place to say this but all in all, a brilliant car, quiet, cheap, reliable, rust free....may well buy one!
  5. After 2 years of driving a modern box I'm looking for another VR6 or 20vt conversion BUT.......I'm also tempted by an Elan, does anybody have experiences of these cars??? Thanks!
  6. Sounds like the clutch release bearing, easy enough to do if you have jacks and a weekend.......as you depress the pedal the 'slack' is taken up in the bearing as it's 'squished' toward the pressure plate and so the noise goes away, it's not too serious, I'd just keep an eye on it......
  7. Personally I don't object to them actually buying the cars, it's their money IMHO, what I object to is the marketing strategy that a 1.2l could ever be a sport! I have conversations with non-motor enthusiasts at work who proudly come and tell you that they've paid the extra £100s to have, what is essentially a sport sticker and some fog lights, on their [insert typical company car]. It just seems that people are being taken for a ride which is sickening, yet they let themselves believe all that bollox and gladly pay extra :? or they genuinely believe it which is just as bad. On the website I tried to and point out that it makes no sense and that they could potentially be paying more for essentially nothing but a name. I aim to make no point, just venting - in case I offend any sensitive souls.
  8. I had the misfortune to lose my VR6 in an accident with a drunken driver and ended up replacing it with a nice sensible Skoda Roomster, anyway, I went on the Skoda forum and they're all moony over the new Fabia 1.2 SPORT! :D It really gets on my tits, there are 11 pages of people talking about space, blah, mpg, blah, blah, blah, I mentioned that it is and never will be a 'sports car' it's as pointless as labelling a Lotus Elise MPV limited edition because it has wipe clean seats and airbags! I fear I may have offended some of the members with this remark :) - What the hell is going on? Have people lost the ability to use the analytical and reasoning buttons on their brains? My brief entrance to the world of the mundane modern car has lead me to hanker after the delights of Corrado ownership again but I worry that it may be too late and I must be culled like the other farm animals which apparently inhabit the modern car world. Waffle over... :)
  9. That's the very beast! I love that Skoda has the balls to release something which people aren't sure if they like, rather than pandering to the mass market and building something average which won't put anyone off. As far as new cars go under £12K there's not a lot of individuality if you want more than just a runabout [cue a multitude of responses showing examples of me being wrong :) ]. There's nothing else new that I would have bought, much better to stick less cash into an investment car usually, but then I have a wife who watched me flail around on a bed for nearly 3 months because I was in pain and couldn't really walk so she was keen for airbags etc. Maybe the 1st Roomster VR6 in the future? Hereby starts the Roomster Revolution - Viva la Revolution!
  10. No I decided that I couldn't replace my baby with another Corrado, it just made me sad to look at another, so after months of deciding between a scooby, a Celica GT4 or at a stretch a Porka 912 I went for a ...........Skoda Roomster :) . It came up at auction for silly money, a year old for under £6K, it had lost nearly £6K in 12months! It's a brilliant car, handles OK and I can get 3 bikes and all my climbing gear in the back, plus it looks unlike all of the 'new 'boxes'. This is my 1st new car and I have to admit that having a warranty ROCKS, although I've already had to have the heater controls replaced - must be me  I'm tempted to keep them both but my wife would shoot me and she's fallen in love with the Roomster I do indeed just_say_meth, I hope it was good stuff they were saying :)
  11. Just in case anyone was still interested, it looks as though they're gonna fix it :D After months of gentle persuasion and haggling with my insurers [Elephant - absolute pap but they are cheap] they've decided that it's worth more than the £1.9K the 3rd party offered and are now looking at repairing it rather than fork out the £4K that I refused to go lower than. I'm hopeful that once repaired it should be better than ever as the chassis wasn't twisted after all it was just the outer wings which had popped off and it's being done by a VW garage 8) ...I just have a little problem...I've already bought a replacement :( so one of the two has got to go............anyone fancy a mint [except for heater control] VR6 with rebuilt engine 20K ago? :( As for injuries, it turned out I had a cracked pelvis and internal bleeding [well only clotting] of all of my internal soft muscle in the general vicinity of my unmentionables :) ..........although it fuggin hurt for a long time. It took 3 months before I could walk comfortably again and I've only just been able to get back on my downhill bike. Still, the courtcase is on the 14th April so maybe ££££££££££££££££ Have to agree about the morphine VAG-hag :)
  12. Apologies if this has been covered before, but as above really, will it fit? Thanks
  13. My insurance Company is saying that my car [see this thread http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 17&t=62387] has been written off before and are claiming that it may not have been repaired to an adequate standard, whereby invalidating my insurance and therefore, my personal injury claim to the to$$er who did this and left me unable to walk/sit for the next couple of months [turns out I have a cracked pelvis and LOTS of internal bruising]. As far as I'm aware the fact that it had a valid MOT is proof positive that the car is deemed safe but I am really clueless as how to progress, so if anyone in the know has any advice I'd be truly grateful. Many thanks
