hey all, i haven't posted in a hot minute but i'm back online to show you what were doing with my old rado. first off, its a 1992 VR6 SLC car. i bought this car from the original owner who garaged it since day one, he also kept extensive maintenance records. it had 199,xxx miles on it, i paid $2,300. so after i drove it for about 6 months i sold it to a good friend of mine who totalled it the very next day, he brought it back from the dead at a cost of $8,000. Now he has decided to do a major service including engine rebuild with new harness, axles, brakes, cooling system, struts, stiffer springs, new transmission, to name some of the larger projects. so i'll probably snap a few pics along the way and let you guys know what problems i run into etc. after this work is done its going to the bodyshop for a little paintwork to freshen it up. this is what it looked like when i bought it... this is the day after i sold it lol... todays work included diagnosing the ABS light, fixing the inoperative speedometer, odometer and spoiler. we also did rear pads and rotors with new bearings and seals. i also welded the exhaust heat sheild up which was rattling. the front brakes, calipers, hoses, and master are en route to the shop. in the shop... the current owner, keith... the rear brakes all broken down... me, packing the bearings... i put tires on it maybe 1000 miles ago... i enjoy talking about tech stuff so if you have any questions feel free to ask and i'll probably have a few of my own!

i'm too cheap for the dealer lol, but am finding that most parts need to come from there. thanks for the tip though.

i didn't even know it was supposed to slide open haha

can i get a decent radiator for less than 200 bucks? i can't seem to find any. btw, its a '92 VR6. thanks

can't find an engine rebuild kit

thanks i will check that out -
i spent about 15 minutes on google looking for a decent rebuild kit for my '92 VR6 'rado. i found one for about $650. but i want more/better options. is there a stroker kit available or something with forged pistons? give me some links please. also it would help if they ship to the U.S. thanks guys.

i'm assuming were talking about throttle bodies. if so, you won't feel any difference between the two. but on the other hand the newer engine may feel better due too less wear or mileage. especially since you say yours feels sluggish.

i'm a tech and have access to all the alignment equipment so that shouldn't be a problem. i'm familiar with shims and they can be a PITA, but thanks for the info

i can't find the originals around here, except the expensive ones on ebay...

i just bought some new tires, Sumitomo HTR-Z from tirerack.com. they are actaully very nice tires for a very good price. anyway, my last ones were ruined due to poor alignment and my question is... can i set toe in the rear-end or is it non-adjustable? thanks

i've been looking for some cheap, good quality floormats for the 'rado. not wanting to pay 100 bucks for the ebay ones, i did some research and found that brand new Pontiac GTO floormats fit like a glove and are good OEM quality. i'll get pics later. just something for you guys to consider, but i don't know about the availability if you're not in the states.

yea its in amazing shape considering its mileage, thanks. do you guys have different seat belts or something? i'm lost, "turn repeaters to the smaller, wing-mounted euro ones".....what the heck does that mean? haha.
-
yea, 15's. i'll keep them for awhile as i just put new tires on them. i want to lower it a bit but my last car was lowered and the ride was really really bumpy. thanks for the compliment! haha is that a stock exhaust tip? i'm very new to these cars. leather would be awesome but you just can't find anything where i live. i haven't even seen another corrado in 5-10 years unfortunatly.

I just recently bought this as my daily driver but i am very willing to trade one of you guys for your right hand drive version, all you have to do is pay for shipping....haha. what do you guys think? sort of joking about the trade but any input on what i should do to it? anyway its 100% stock, VR6, BBS, 200k miles, one owner, very clean and everything works!
