  1. Finally got round to painting the engine bay. Pics are pre-laquer, hope you like it
  2. I've had a similar issue with the paint. The problem with working on a car in this weather, as you've probably come to realise, is drying time. Try leaving as much time as possible in between stages and you should have a much better finish. If the filler and/or primer is not 100% dry the paint will react with the excess moisture. I had to re-do mine after getting the same result :( . You'll find much better quality materials than halfords at a trade paint/automotive refinishing shop local to you. The u-pol filler is too hard in my opinion and is more susceptible to cracking. Great work so far. :)
  3. Last coat of red primer :D Few more days and it should be wet sanded and ready for paint. Yippee! Photoshop of possible colour combination, not a very good effort i know but you kind of get the idea :?
  4. Thanks m8 :D The paint was dodgy in a few places and i'd had some bad luck with some equally dodgy garages and bodyshops. So decided i'd have a go at doing a 'proper' job myself. 95% of the work i've done myself so far, bear in mind that i've only had minimal experience (home!) until last july, when i started helping out at my friend's garage and it kind of snowballed from there. I seriously underestimated how long this and difficult this would be. Oh well! In for a penny in for a pound.... It's not as expensive as it looks, but it does take hours of hard graft....... :gag: :gag: Bit more progress.......
  5. December 2001>> sorry about the quality of the first few! january 2006>> november 2006>>>> Feb 2007>>> july 2007... Few more mods to go......    .....................little did i know how many more mods! may 2008.... Engine progress so far... Still got a few bits to finish, polished/chromes bolts etc... :D March 2009.......>>Engine Bay Prep 1st Primer stage, still more sanding :? :? :) :)
