  1. Hi

Had the heater matrix replaced today the chap who replaced it used a Valeo. Just have another issue found another leak and this seem to be coming from the thermostat housing and I have not driven it. Guys I will be replacing the thermostat housing but at the same time should I put in a new thermostat and the temperature sender?

Also forgot to mention the metal pipe that goes into the top of the radiator has a small pin size hole can this be repaired using a metal hardener paste? Having spoken to the mechanic who replaced the heater matrix today he said due to the thermostat leak this must have created an air lock in the system and cause the heater matrix to blow.

Well it was a 20 year old part no bad really.

    Your comments are appreciated

  4. I have been quoted £150 supply and fix for the heater matrix does this seem right. The mechanic has been recommend by my friend who has a camper van and has been using this guy for 6 years.

  5. Hi Guys,

Took the car for a spin on Saturday being that the weather was awesome its been garaged for 6 months. After I parked it up there was steam/mist and noticed water in the driver side footwell. I know its the heater matrix does anyone know a recommended mechanic in Birmingham to fix this problem and how much it may cost. Also advice on which make of heater matrix is suitable, the control on the blower only works on 4 would it be best to get this looked at the same time as the heater matrix.

    Your help is appreciated.

  6. What work wonder is using white sprit they use to clean brushes. Soak some of the white sprit on the cloth and apply it to the adesive left behind, make sure gets through leave it for 10 minutes and just rub it down with the same cloth dont worry it doesnt effect the paint and no scratches!!

  7. If it's any consolation, mine does the same. It goes away once it's warmed up. Have you checked your oil?

I have checked the oil and its at the right level, I had a oil change and I used the 10 40 oil. The noise isnt loud it just that I get paranoid with the ticking sound. As long there is no damage to the engine I guess i have to live with it and sort it out in the near future. :)

  8. Hi

I have a 1994 VR and there is a ticking sound from the top of the engine (left hand side next to the air box). I believe it may be the tappets or lifters is this something I should be worried about or is its common on a engine which is 16 years old, I dont want the engine blowing up, will be blow up? :cuckoo: . Sorry but I get paranoid when it comes to engines, last thing I want the engine dying on me. Your help is appeciated.

  9. They're 7.5s, if u look in the first page of my build thread you'll see that I had some on my valver but mine were et25. I'd personaly run a 205/40 max or they'll look like baloons and you'll most likely have scrubbing issues. I had 195/45s on mine and they were chunky enough tbh.

so would you suggest that i just stick to a set of '15's ?

  10. yeah you said all those details in your first post..

what i said above is that now we need to know how wide they are. ET28 doesnt tell us anything without knowing what width it applies to.

basically they will fit with 205/45 as long as they're not more than about 7-7.5in wide. if they're 8 or 9 then you'll need arch work

Just checked the width of tire its 205mm which makes it 8.07 inches. I have the standard speedlines on my vr which is 205/50/15. So will the Lenso's fit even if the car is lowered and is it true that its hard to get hold of '16'inch tyres and they may be more expensive than you '15' or '17' as its not a common size? :?

I will find out out and let you know. :D

  12. Cheers for that info, the wheels are the following Lenso BBS style alloy wheels & 205/55/16 tyres,Wheel spec is, ET28, 5 stud, 100 pcd. My question is that if I were to take the existing tyres and put on 205/50/16 or 205/45/16 would these still fit or is it a option to settle for 15 inch alloys. Could invest in some coilovers but dont want to spend anymore money as the Bilistein are doing the job nicely. :D

  13. Hi

I went to see these Lenso '16' BSX yesterday they looked sweet. My car has been lowered with bilistein shocks and springs and I tried one of the wheels on rado they are quite large and were rubbing under the arch. Can you guys suggest what i should do as I was advised these would fit easily. My heart is set on these Lenso's as they would give my rado a facelift :D .Cheers

  14. Hi All

I have bought a pair of late front foglights for my VR6, these have been tinted/painted back. Anyone know how to remove this as I would like to put yellow laminex film on them.

    Cheers

  15. Hi

My friend has brought a VR6 and I noticed that a couple of wires around the engine were not connected. Can anyone advice me what these are as it will need attention. I have attached a photo with red clound highlighted.

    Cheers

  16. One of my friends bought a DC2 at exactly the same time I bought my Corrado. I preferred my VR6 (and so did he it would seem as he was gutted when I sold it! ) and suprisingly his car had quite allot of rust on despite it being less than 13 years old. Apparently they are quite well known for it!

I guess it's down to personal taste really. The Teg is a little more raw but the VR6 is better all rounder imho.

What do you mean by raw? :?
