  1. Hi so we got my nugget yellow g60 fired up today and realised we are missing the cooling fan. I have the rad so am looking for the fan, framework and bolts that attach it to the rad and the little top cover piece.

  2. Hi, where abouts are you?

I have a vr6 lump in the workshop with prob all the parts you want, can have it for beer tokens. I got it from a rado g60 that someone was trying to convert to a vr6. I'm into the g60 so a vr6 engine is of no use to me.

    In Dorset.

  3. Hi

Looking for a g60 knock sensor, I've got a 1991 corrado. I'm guessing that a vr6 sendor prob wont do the job, it does look similar, i've got a vr6 lump sat in the workshop.

    thanks

  4. Hi

I have one at my farm in Dorset. Un known history really. I brought a corrado from a bloke locally who had it from new but no one told him to re build the charger, charger went bang and he had a pipedream of putting a VR6 engine in it instead so I brought the car with the VR6 engine litterally just resting in the engine bay, if its o interest buy me some beer tokens and its yours. I can stick it on a pallet if that helps

  5. Hi

I'm looking for Corrado G60 Throttle Switch. Basically Its the electical bit on the back of the throttle body, has 3 parts joined by wires one of them being where the electric plugs into. I broke it taking the engine out.

    thanks

  6. VR6 Engine, Gearbox, ECU, Loom.

Hi got as the title suggests.

Basically 3mths ago I brought a nugget yellow g60 from a guy 2miles down the road for 400quid. The guy has owned the car for about 15years. The car had been dry stored for 4years due to the charger blowing up, no one told him he needed to rebuild the charger!

Instead of changing the charger he had a pipe dream of converting it to a VR6. He managed to take the g60 lump out and literally just put the VR6 in place and gave up. I brought the car for spares but its in such nice condition I couldn't bring myself to take it appart so I'm going to get it running again. I prefer the g60 engine so want to keep it as a g60 as all the badges are g60. I have a mk1 g60 and a corrado g60 so you can tell I love the engine.

What I know about the engine is limited, the guy I brought it off had no reason to lie and you can kinda tell a bulls**tter a mile off.

He said he got the engine out of a written off mk3 vr6 from a local breakers, he saw it running. I've just taken it engine out and cranked it by hand and there is loads of compression.

I think theres a lot of these engines about so any offers are welcome. I'm gonna split the gearbox and hopefully use the flywheel, bolts and clutch on the g60 engine?

    VR6 Engine - 50

    Gearbox - 50

    ECU - 25

    Loom - 25

I'm happy to put it on a pallet if courier is sorted out, i'm on the farm everyday and have a telehandler to load onto lorry etc..

  8. Hi, going to try and fire my mk1 g60 after another year stood in the workshop.

Got it cranking, got the spark, just need to sus out the fuel rail.

Basically how it works, parts of it etc...

Firstly which is the inlet and return. Obviously got 2 options as there are 2 pipe attachment points on the cambelt side of the rail, one facing up towards the bonnet on the topside and one underneith facing the road. The one facing the road goes into some kind of vacuum diaphram (what is this and what does it do?) that has a vac pipe going into the inlet manifold. So inlet and return advice please. The other side of the rail seems pretty self expainatory, looks like the outlet to feed the 5th injector, might be wrong though.

    any help appreciated

    thanks

  9. Thanks for the replies, album56 seems to be closest to the problem and that would make sense.

I can't I do have a lot of paperwork with her but haven't looked through for clutch replacements, it's got 145K on the clock surely this wouldn't have been achieved on the original clutch?

I'm guessing that all modern clutched availiable for this car is of the right type

    thanks

  10. Hi, had a quick scan of the forum and couldn't find any relevent threads so thought I'd just ask.

Got a 1991 rado g60, got a rough idea of what might be happening but second opinions are always good.

Basically sometimes the clutch and gear engagement is fine but sometimes it gets locked in reverse and sometimes selecting forward gears is an issue especially 3rd, you gotta take it easy. Theres no noticable clutch slip which makes me think the friction plates are ok, was thinking maybe the thrust bearing might be getting worn so its not engaging properly. I do have an odd tinkling noise when i turn left but think thats unrelated.

Oh yeah anyone know anywhere good for 68mm pulleys and smaller charger belts?

    thanks
