I Just found out on another thread that I can get the same part from Ford (in this case an oil pressure regulator housing for a VR6) for a third of the price that I can get it from VW. ain't that just typical.
-
Thanks Joe M - exactly what I was looking for - and a saving of over £40 by going to a ford dealership. 8) I wonder if there are many other bits that are the same? (and a third of the price). Does the Galaxy VR6 use as many sensors for engine management? or is it just the mechanicals I wonder.

VR6 would probably be easier to post a pic but I don't have a camera handy. running between the air intake (big pipe after the airbox) and the top of the engine is a smaller tube (inch and a half?) with a sensor and a housing that contains a diaphram or valve type thingy (technical term). The housing is connected to the top of the engine by a rubber pipe that is part of the housing. This rubber pipe is split and has come away from the housing. What is the housing called? What does it do? How much is a new one? The car doesn't seem to run much differently even though I can hear air getting in or coming out. Also the sensor that goes into this pipe doesn't appear to have any metal contacts on the connector on the pipe (?????). Hope someone has a bit of a clue what I mean  cheers

Kev, You're a classic! .

Ooh Yum  - That's just how I'd like my VR to look (right colour too!). I will post a before and after with the wonder wheels in the next week or too. My wheels are some of the grottiest in the land. Hopefully get them cleaned up just in time to sell it. :( Heading back to Aus in September :D

Whats the fastest you have ever been in your Corrado?

I was just thinking about this thread (or the exact same one that went around a few months ago) the other day as I hit 142 (indicated). just under 6000 revs stock standard vr6. Had to slow down as all the other cars were coming at me in reverse at 70mph! :) It would take quite a long road for the old girl to get much more than that I think. -
Sliding Rear particularly under braking - why oh why?
Bolster replied to Dancing Fish's topic in Archive
My VR used to have a tendancy to slide at the rear when pushed until I replaced the rear shocks and replaced the tyres (although these were just the better brand tyres that were on the front when I replaced the fronts with new rubber). Mine is standard all round so may not be the same issue as yours but worth a mention. -
That amused me the first time I saw that a while ago - "Inline V" - bit of a misnomer as the pots can't be inline and in a V. However I do realise that what they mean by that is the flow of fuel goes across all cylinders the same way, as per inline donks and unlike the 'drop it in the top, push it out the sides' for the usual V configuration. those germans are just crazy. man.

Just re-read the truvelo stuff - they are not used in pairs. they use the 3 lines on the road AND there are other strips that activate to give an average speed - anyone one know hopw far apart these strips are ? ie how far away from the camera?
-
If you're talking about the speed cameras at the beginning of the A1 they are Gatso's pointing towards the inbound traffic. The lines after them are just to scare everyone outbound. If there are more Cameras further North I do not know about them. Does anyone know how far apart the truvelo cameras are usually placed? I've only ever been through single cameras (they are supposed to work in pairs) - not sure how that can trigger an average speed reading??? I have read the blurb at http://www.speedcamerasuk.com (might be worth checking for the cameras you think you went through there too.) Bolst

I'm from Brisbane. Anyone want to sell me a mint VR6 with Aircon ??????
-
This is one reason I can't wait to get back to Oz. http://motormouth.com.au/pricesearch.as ... n=Brisbane 77 cents a litre - That's less than 32p a litre at the current exchange rate !!! The downside is the C won't be coming with me

I just moved to the Isle of Wight on the weekend - glad I hadn't lowered anything yet - the roads are very picturesque but not the smoothest in the UK!! Shame as there are some nice twisties. [TIC] Maybe I should RAISE mine by 60 - 80 cm  (photochop to follow :) ). Has anyone ever seen a Corrado Monster Truck? [/TIC]

SOME OF THE WORST CORRADOS EVER... RICED !!!!!!! NOOOOOO ;-)
Bolster replied to chris CORRADO's topic in Exterior
Some may say 'each to their own'. I say they all have a lead deficiency problem - they should all be shot. -
Maybe try looking closer to home. found this in 2 secs though google.com.au http://herman.coomans.net/pink.html - so it's not hard. No offense but I don't think many people on this forum have a very high care factor when it comes to pink VK's. best of luck.
