I bought my VR6 with a rebuilt engine that was polished and it is a lot quicker than my last VR6. Makes it run a lot smoother as well.
  2. For about a month now the ABS and Brake Light come on when I start my car and will not go off for a while. Seems to get worse and worse as time goes on. Recently I have even lost power braking!! Then 5-10 miles down the road the power brakes kick in and shortly later the lights turn off. Sometimes the lights even turn back on when I brake just as I come to a stop. Please tell me this is not my ABS unit, it has already faild once and I paid 450 for a used one off a VR6 passat. I have tried checking the electrical system but can find no bad conections. Could it be the rellay? or the sensors? where can I buy rellays and how can I check the sensors? Thanks for you help :?
  3. I replaced the same mount on my VR6. It was a pain to get out but luckly it poped out before I started taking everything apart. I had to jack up the engine a lot, and just about fliped the mount upside down before it poped out. I got my mount from http://www.germanautoparts.com. It was the cheapest stock mount I could find. All I got to say is replace it as soon as possible, I'm dealing with other problems that I think could have been prevented by replacing the mount a while ago.
  4. I just installed 2 new Bilstien struts on the front. When I put them back together they didn't torque down right and had slight gaps between the strut tops and the car. I think my rubber mounts are shot, I can see metal showing through slightly. I want to know if it is worth replacing the bearings as well as the rubber mounts. Do they wear out and if they do how can I tell? Thank you, Matt Wakeman
