Hey Oxfordpaul, Was trawling the forums & came upon your post about the misfire. It seems I now have the same issue as you (i hope!) had. My symptoms are on light acceleration theres a sometimes severe jolt like the throttle is sticking. Also occurs when you lift off the throttle. So far I've replaced: plugs leads coil pack MAF Lamda sensor. Did you ever get yours resolved & If so what was the cause. The car is a nightmare to drive around town. Motorway is fine. Hi everyone! Been ages since I've posted here but I've a very irritating problem with a kinda misfire with my VR6. Symptoms: It's like a misfiring but only occurs less than say 3000rpm. Sitting on motorway speeds its fine. Only does it when the engine is up to running normal temp. 90% of the time on a drive manifests itself just after the biting point when moving off. Can be very very sharp to the point where the jolt is quite severe. Makes you look like you drive like a bit of a tool! Its nearly like its an intermittent loss of fuel & gives the impression the throttle is sticking. Investigation already carried out...... New plugs, leads & coil pack. No improvement! The car is very difficult to drive around town & as i say its like the throttle is sticking. Everytime you move off it will stick causing a "chugging". Cruising along a say less than 50 feathering the throttle it gives a misfiring type sensation. Anyone have any ideas or experienced this? It's making the car really not fun to drive! :( Thanks in advance!

Can i ask what it went for as i'm looking to move my M reg VR6 on. It's very difficult to price point it as online they go from anything from £2k up...... Cheers!

Yea tyre pressures are cool. Defo something mechanical.............

Kinda hard to describe this but i'll give it a go. There's a dull thudding noise coming from the front. At first i thought i had a puncture but i hadn't. Usually very subtle but can be louder. Happens when out of gear too(coasting). Had wheel bearing replaced as precaution but me thinks its from that sort of area. Has been there for months & is getting progressively worse............ Any ideas or anyone suffered similar? Cheers.

My dash temp gauge is telling me strange stories. On any journey, excess of 100 miles included, the temp never shows more than 70-75. I always remember it to be in and around the 90ish mark. I could see through it if the needle didn't move at all, but this is weird! Any ideas or anyone encountered this before??

Where is the spoiler motor located in the car though???

Spoiler playing up so want to bypass thermo switch & check out the motor. Just need to tell my mechanic where it lives..... ? Thanks!!

Have an on going issue with my battery but it has come to the point were if i don't drive the car for 24hrs it wont start. Have had the AA out to test the battery & it's fine or so they say. Is there any common things that drain the battery??? The alternator is Starting to piss me off!! :mad2: Btw it's a '95 VR6. 164k miles.

Thanks folks. Defo a few possibilities there. Checked the fluid level & it's at the min so that should account for the light........

Dunno if the hubs were cleaned & they're not grooved discs. Can't really see it being a wheel bearing as there is no humming noise????

Got an issue with my brake discs at the mo. They were shuddering big time under light braking then tapers off a bit when you brake a little harder. So got new discs! However the problem is back having been fine for a few weeks on the new discs. :mad2: The red brake light is also coming on now intermittantly(the one thats on when the handbrake is on). How can the discs be warped again??? Don't think it's the back discs as have used the handbrake to slow down & there is no shudder..........

I was kinda meaning is there a cheaper option than getting new ones at the dealers(£42 each)..............?????

I've just replaced my front fog lens which is a super job :clap: , now the indicator lens look tired :( . Is there a similar job for the indicator lens? Had the fog ones for ages before i got the job done, think i sourced them from the US via a thread here. Cheers.

I know this has been covered! It sticks on its way up & down either automatically or by the switch. I have had the cables out so they have been greased. What could be the issue if it's not the cables. Can't be the motor i assume as it wouldn't be working at all.........??? Any advice would be great!! Cheers.

Just been on to the stealers & they told me that the headlight lens for my Chassis number has been discontinued..... :sad: Surley the other one will fit anyway? It's for a '95 VR6, don't recall ever seeing a C with different headlights to mine....... Anybody with any experience of this??? Secondly my passenger door handle has packed in(just like the drivers one did a few years ago!), what is the most economical way of sorting this?? The MOT is due soon............ Cheers......

My passenger side headlight took a stone hit a while back. :( Small hole in it, letting in water now etc......... MOT coming up soon so need to replace it. Where's the best place to source it other than the stealers.............

Every day car is this E46 M3, good fun but the Corrado is as good fun in its own way. Obviously slower but easier to drive hard!! :D

Hey folks need a bitta help here. If the C is left idle for 3-4 days the battery is flat, what makes it even more frustrating is that the battery AND alternator are brand new. OK something maybe draining it but wouldn't it be obvious if it does it that quick. Any ideas??? :?

I know why it has happened but just want to know the part to get. It appears one of the linking arms on the drivers side has disconnected from its mate. I can slide it back on but the connection which holds it in place seems to be the broken bit. I have a photo of it but it won't let me attach it as there are too many pixels!!!!! Any ideas or is my explaination a bit grey!!!

Is it costly to fix????
