    Hi, Just got some insurance money from someone who rear-ended me last january and wanted to do a few mods. I am getting some new wheels, 'cos my speedlines are knackered, and am going up to 17's and would like some advice on a decent brake setup. Not being amazingly technically minded I have read this and don't quite understand everything that goes into changing your brake setup. By the looks of it, the easiest is to go for the 288 VR6 upgrade from the golf mk3/mk4 but I would like some *nice* person just to explain what the costs are to change everthing and what would be required. Probably looking at an *absolute* maximum of £300 on parts.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers p.s. the C is a 95 M VR6

    Sorry guys to be a pain - I went direct to vince, paid my 50% up front last week - Think I was no. 17 and he said teh cash would be going out tuesday, so I am in for a penny! (or a few of them anyway!) Cheers *saving madly for the next 3 weeks* :roll:

    There is a place in south london - penge - that i called up - they do it for about 230 quid - take all the windows out, add the film and then bake it so it goes on permanently apparently. Sounds good to me! I would be pi$$ed right off if i had spent a load of cash and got a bubbly film all over my windows!!

    Hi yeah its me - post rarely if not ever and just keep an eye out for bargains! Got a black vr that I am slowly but surely building up to a nice spec. Wasn't planning on doing the VGI thing right now, but to save myself £500 its got to be done really...... Couple of other things I need to ask about tuning/mods - do i have to do it here or somewhere else? Seems like a silly question I know but is kind of related to the VGI thing! Cheers
