  1. Lilfuzzer has got my old VR6 standard 280 brakes which were in pretty decent nick, red powder coated too, though powder coating getting a bit weathered, give him a shout, guessing the calipers carriers might be straight swap, though ya'd need 4 stud discs presumably. Only changed as upgraded to bigger brakes

Great that mate, i will do :) i've sourced the 280mm 4 stud discs, and have the calipers too so it is literally the carriers i'm after now, thanks

  2. Yeah I heard that also or you can get spacing plates for your 16V carriers.

You’d be better off getting G60 calipers while your at it, you can pick them up with carriers for under £100 they are a straight swoop and with a set of braded lines give better pedal feel.

Has anyone got any links or info on these carrier spacers so i can just use my 16v calipers to do my 280mm disc upgrade? Thanks in advance

  4. How easy are 9j Borbet A's to fit on a VR6, would they need arch mods / arches rolled?

    Cheers,

    Peter

you talkin front and rear mate?

i'm runnin on 7.5 fronts and 9 rears without any arch work,so can

vouch for them bein ok on the back, but not 100% sure on fronts.

  5. [quote=Abdul;914405 To ask 7.5k for a rado in joe public's eye you'd need something seriously rowdy.

While this car may have great engineering it's not something that's generaly appreciated without the figures to back it unless you are of course a true corrado nut etc but how many people are these days?

Just my humble opinion... 7.5k buys you a hell of a lot of machinery these days.

naaaahhhhh mate your well off there imo!

joe public wouldnt buy a 'rado anyway whether it was £1,250 or £12,500 as like you say

they are an enthusiasts motor nowadays.

i see escort rs turbos and other lesser guff:norty: with no where near that spec or appeal

swap hands for 10k plus on a weekly basis.

the audience may be a smaller one,but keener and more appreciative of such work.

if someone with that kinda coin to play with really really wants an ultimate example like that

they will buy it. if (and i mean if,lol)my numbers came up on the lotto tonight i'd have it.

  6. Drove a 2.3 Audi Coupe for years until I unexpectedly picked up another Corrado, have to say the Corrados a better car all round:cheers:.

ooh dunno about that,i had many an audi coupe over the years, coupe GT and the newer ones too.

nicer drive, and built better than either of the rado's i've had, admittedly they are a heavier car,and not quite as sharp

    in the twisties,unless its a quattro:norty:

and nothing sounds like a firespittin five pot imo, kinda wish the did a rado with one in:cool:

  7. Agree with the above. If you want to be sure though and have a reliable place you normally use, then see how much it would cost for them to take a quick look for a second opinion. Shouldn't take them long so I guess it would be cheap. That would put your mind at rest.

top idea! get them to do whats known as a pre-mot check for you, shouldn't be more than 20 groats

and as portent said, you could put it out of your mind then:thumbleft:

  8. exactly my good man, back then we were a big player in such markets, but like

you say with manufacturing going abroad for costing reason's we just arent anymore.

its a sad thing but we all have to realise it and progress somehow as we will never compete

with third world and upcoming economies overheads and wages.

great britain should have the great removed from its title because well,it just isnt

anymore. small fish, big pond syndrome unfortunately.
