The good old pressure switch

Recommended Posts

Getting the horrible beeping coming on when above 3000 revs. The weird thing is, if I flick the main beam it stops (for a very short while). I've replaced the pressure switches but this hasn't solved the issue. Any ideas?

Are you sure that the oil pressure is correct on your engine? It could actually be that the beeping is coming on for the proper reason and you've just found an odd problem with your main beam! :|

Otherwise, sounds like a dodgy earth somewhere to me...

Thanks for the reply Henny.

I don't think it can be the Oil pressure as its been happening for months now and I've been doing long motorway miles. I guess if it really was suffering I would have found out by now (knackered engine)????

The garage I'm taking it two on Tuesday think its electrical as its so intermittent (although it drove me mad this morning, stayed on solid for 20mins on the way to work)

Is the garage right do you think?

anywhere from the switch back to the clocks... :| wiring's probably the most awkward thing to diagnose as there's so many daft things that can go wrong with it... :?

We used to bang the dashboard on top of the clocks with the mk1 golf and funnily enough the buzzer noise used to go away

along with the worry !
