Fixing my spoiler

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a 16v, but my spoiler no longer raises when it should. How do I go about looking to see what is wrong with it?

See if you can raise it with the button - if so mechanisms fine and sensors gone

sorry, but am not certain where sensor is?

first thing check the fuse (no 16 i think)

if fuse is okay problem could be in three areas

1.spoiler control box

2.switch

3.spoiler motor

most likely to be the spoiler control box. This is located behind the dash directly behind the spoiler switch and can be accessed if you remove the shelf and dash from the fuse box area. Second hand control boxes regularly come up on ebay(as well as switches for that matter).

If its a problem with the motor (located at the back) then you'll need to get the motor either serviced ( several companies will do this for a reasonable amount of money) or replaced.

goodluck
