Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted November 3, 2004 Hope I get the same result. Mine's going in tomorrow morning. Hey that's a thought... does anyone know if a back box would fail for having half of the outer skin rusted and split so it's like a hinged flap over the top of the box? It's not actually blowing, but it don't look too swift :|

16VG60 1 Posted November 4, 2004 To fail the MOT test your exhaust would have to be leaking / blowing gasses from a point other than the intended exit or be insecure on it's fittings for one or another reason. The outer skin being corroded is not a reason for rejection unless it brings other factors into the equation.
Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted November 4, 2004 Oh well. It didn't quite get the clean sheet yours did Joe, but I've had much, much worse. Brake pedal rubber missing. Handbrake cable rubbing on rear wheel. And ironically enough, the back box passed, but the centre section was blowing! Only needs re-sealing at the joint though, so no great drama My credit card's just breathed a sigh of relief. Was preparing myself for the cost of a full system there! 8)
Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted November 10, 2004 :thumb right: :thumbleft: That's the MOT hell over with for another year! And all it cost me was a new brake pedal rubber (£3.70) a cable tie and a splodge of mastic on the exhaust. Why cant EVERY year be like that?
