young driver question.....

Hi again peeps, been along time since ive been on here.

 

Just a quick question...

Im 19 and insurance isnt cheap on my Golf GTi at all so what engine size would you peeps recomend for me on a corrado?

 

1.8 16v. 2.0 8v or what ever????

 

whats the cheapest group. sorry for sounding daft :roll:

2.0 8V is the lowest group insurance, but will probably be worth more so will cost as much to insure as the 1.8 16V...

 

It all depends on the insurance company and which way the wind is blowing when you phone 'em... :roll:

only advise i would give is shop around, spend an afternoon on the phone, the prices vary more than you think, when i shopped for mine i got quoted £1200 ( co-op )as the highest and £290 (direct line) as the lowest with the same cover and excess !!

 

sheep dont steal cars so its cheap here :wink:

Some of the guys on the Yahoo group did some research on the groupings of insurance and came up with this:

 

Cheapest to insure to most expensive

 

1.8 16V - grp 15

2.0 8V - grp 15

2.0 16V - grp 16

G60 - grp 16

VR6 - grp 18

VR6 Storm - grp 18/19

Ok peeps,

 

hopefuly i find a nice corrado before next summer to add to my Dub collection. Concidering a 1.8 16v after reading this.
