Dub Style 0 Posted December 19, 2004 Rite fitted my new rear calipers with the goodridge hoses all bolted up ready for bleeding...........the pedal keeps going all the way down and theres not alot of fluid coming from the back calipers..........the only thing that comes to mind is the bolts that came with the hoses had a hole half way on the bolt, does this have to be tightened to line up with the brake pipe ie - - or can it be tightened as usual and still work. dr_mat 0 Posted December 19, 2004 Rear brake compensator valve? If the back end is jacked up it won't allow any pressure to the rear brakes anyway...

That's how banjo joints work....the fluid comes down the hose, flows round the 'banjo', through the hole in the bolt and into the caliper, so alignment not required. If the pedal is going to the floor, you have an air lock. Get one of those easi bleed kits and try again.
Dub Style 0 Posted December 19, 2004 is there a different method of bleeding if you've got abs brakes, i noticed two bleed type valves on the pump but did not attempt at them thinkin there may or may not need doing.
Dub Style 0 Posted December 23, 2004  anyone?
Timo. 0 Posted December 23, 2004 keep ignition on when bleeding, try bleeding the abs pump with both the valves on top of the pump. Then bleed all the calipers. T.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 23, 2004 Try bleeding the master cylinder a bit aswell. I wouldn't go near the ABS pump without specialist knowledge and equipment.
Supercharged 2 Posted December 23, 2004 I thought you needed to use VAG COM when bleeding the pump?
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted April 2, 2005 Vag Com! it's just fluid man, what's vag-com going to tell you, have you ever seen what is displayed with vag-com? nothing to do with break fluid that's for sure and nothing to do with faults re:abs Chris
