CIPO 0 Posted January 11, 2005 This is doing my head in! My mechanic is running out of ideas for this one. Coming from drivers side from only, squeals when cruising along then the squealing disappears when braking and you get a knocking noise when coming to a stop. Have tried new pads and discs and anti squealing gel. It's fine for a day or 2 after work is done to it, then it comes back just to piss me off!!! :x The wheel spins freely when jacked up. Could it be a dodgy caliper???? Please please help....................... :(
Guest Posted January 11, 2005 I'm no techy, but have you tested bearing?
Supercharged 2 Posted January 11, 2005 Is the driver side wheel noticably warmer after a run than the other side?? If that is the case then that would indicate the brakes are binding, due to lact of grease, old fluid or just a sticky caliper... you may find the Pads have gone shiney and need a light sanding when you come to fix the problem...
