fast x 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Hi guys i had my head rebuild about 2 months ago but still when my brother drives behind me he tells me that the car still puffs smoke????? im using castrol gtx magnatec 10- 40 w any ideas why is this???? the head was skimed etc...... and all the parts got from vw...... fast x 0 Posted February 13, 2005 yeap it uses a bit of oil but not too much!!! as for the smoke is a tiny puff when i change gear but i dont think it does it in every gear, as for the colour is black but before it us to be blue. any help will be most apresiated. dr_mat 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Black smoke is usually a sign of overfuelling, iirc. Maybe look at engine error codes? Lambda probe/MAF sensor implicated in these kind of circumstances.
