COR VR 0 Posted February 17, 2005 Hello guys, I'm not having much luck with my rado at the moment. Wonder if you can help. I've got a bangin' under the car, whenever I go over a bump or turn left. It sounds like the exhaust is hanging off! I suspect it may have something to do with the driveshaft. I had a look under the car, the exhaust is solid and there doesn't seem to be any interference of parts. It sounds like the cv joints but instead of a clicking its a bangin'. Jim 2 Posted February 17, 2005 When my CV joint went it was more like a nasty thump / bang that you could feel through the footwell.. so I wouldn't necessarily discount that just yet?
paddyg 0 Posted February 17, 2005 I think that the best way to describe an "about-to-break" cv joint is a clack clack clack sound when you are turning tight eg a small roundabout. Are the rubbers gone on the cv joints?
dinkus 10 Posted February 17, 2005 If you've lowered it recently, then it could just be the exhaust knocking on the rear axle (the exhaust will stay put, but the axle comes up and hits it).
