infrequent burst of power

Have a strange problem with my G60. Every so often when giving it some beans, from about 4Krpm up it seems to muster up a huge surge of power from out of nowhere. This doesn't happen very often and if I change up, it goes back to normal. Any Ideas on this?. Makes me think that the engine isn't running at peak performance normally, but occasionally reaches its optimum. Having said this, it seems to be running well.

Its got a chip and 68 pulley on it, do you think it needs a bigger intercooler?

Sounds like you have the problems i did... have you checked the sensors? I.e. lambda?

 

Are you experiencing any other problems like poor mpg?

fitted a new lambda when i did the exhaust. mpg is good.

Take a note of the Air temp next time you get that boost.

distributor, only if it seriously lacks power sometimes and backfires, otherwise injector seals

Mine does this sometimes too. I believe it could be the V-belt slipping over the charger pulley wheel.

 

This does tend to happen when you are running a smaller diameter wheel which is why G-Werks offer the toothed pulley system.

if it is infrequent raplace injector seals! it becomes smooth.
