Graham_E 0 Posted February 21, 2005 if this plug is not connected what effect will it have? Maybe a dumb question, but gotta know these things.
Joe M 0 Posted February 21, 2005 Your idle will likely jump about a bit or it wont idle at all, thats the plug for the isv.
Graham_E 0 Posted February 21, 2005 well its been unplugged for a long time, since my last and only visit to my local vw service dept. they obviously forgot to plug it back in, the idle has seemed a little bit jumpy, but seemed worse when i plugged it back in? Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 21, 2005 The engine will try and adapt to not having an ISV connected, not always successfully though! I've run the engine with it disconnected aswell and it idled higher (about 900rpm) and seemed to affect the acceleration aswell...felt flat. It never cut out at junctions though, maybe that's the trick? Just unplug the darn thing!
Supercharged 2 Posted February 21, 2005 but seemed worse when i plugged it back in? So if you re-connect do you have to reset the ECU Kev...?

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 21, 2005 Might be a good idea.....part of the teaching process is to let the car idle for a few minutes....which it can't do properly with no ISV!
Graham_E 0 Posted February 21, 2005 ill go do that in a while see if that does indeed make any difference.
potatonet 0 Posted February 22, 2005 bad idea on G60's the idle stabilizer controls boost as well unplugging makes car overboost, and blow things, i.e. headgasket.
