Red=Fast

Need some advice for a friend

Recommended Posts

Check the history of the car HPI, old MOT's, etc.. ( the most important thing to me )

How long has the current owner had the car ?

Why is he/she selling ?

Check the number of owners ( too many owners sometimes means boy racer, not looked after )

Check for clocking ( digital clocks only cost £65 to change the data )

NG red=fast is in the states.

Its nice to see old history though. Check closely in the boot for signs of rear end damage. I would think rust is not a big thing in cal-i-forn-i-a. The enigines last well with regular maintenance. Cam chains and tensioners need attention around 100k so listen for noise in that dept.

It looks pretty good in the pictures. Not sure about the offroad stance. A trip to New Dimensions on the way home is advised

Probably need shocks too with that mileage.

With the exchange rate that one is similar money to one in the UK.

Gavin

Just looked at the vehicle report. Thats pretty comprehensive for free. It would cost you £40 in the uk and you get hardly anything for that. No previous test reports or anything. If we had a similar system I wouldn't have 160K MK3 thats shows 85K.......

Thanks guys, that should help the guy get an idea on what to look at. It is original owner (an adult) so i think he is in the good there.

Yeah, don't you just hate it when you turn up to view a car and a 9 year old owned it before you...... ;)

If your friend does buy it, ask if its ever been off-road. That looks more like a Jeep than a Sports Coupé!

Try and find a town in the UK that doesn't have speed bumps too ;)

We have mamouth pot-holes too!

Doesn't stop us having cars scraping the deck 8)
