Tekara 0 Posted March 12, 2005 Just noticed when starting the VR up this evening that there is a strange whistle. Sounds sort of like a turbo. Noise is coming from the back of the block, ISV i think. Cant see anything loose, but if i put my hand over it the airy sound became quiet. On a side note i did notice earlier today the car seemed a little flat while accelerating. Any ideas ? Guest Posted March 12, 2005 You have a vacuum leak somewhere on the intake system. Right behind the ISV there is a black box / muffler, Pic 3 - Item #3 Underhood VR6 and these are easy to break and will cause a vacuum leak so I would check into that. Make sure all of the hoses are in good shape and there are no leaks anywhere in the intake system including the breather coming off of the valve cover. Any air that enters the intake system after the MAF sensor is unmetered and will lean out the motor and cause it to lose power. Cheers, Dennis Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
