Bobby 0 Posted March 22, 2005 does anyone know the best way to go about adjusting the rods that are attached to the gear linkage ona 1990 16v corrado as it seem that the gear lever doesn't seem to spring back central like it should, or is there a specific spring that returns the gear stick back to neutral, any ideas thanks :D
daves16v 1 Posted March 22, 2005 There is a wire spring that returns the lever to the neutral position and it's probably broken. Try VAG for a new one.
Guest Posted March 23, 2005 If you pop off your shifter boot you will see a spring with a 13mm bolt holding the spring in place, this is the static shifter position spring. You should adjust this spring so the shifter will go into third and fourth without moving the shifter side-to-side. Check the last post in this link, it explains how to adjust the shifter Cable short shifter. Cheers, Dennis
