Hesitant to rev

Recommended Posts

Just started the car back up, after having new conrod bearings.

The car will start, and tick over quite happily, but as soon as I go to rev it, there is a delay of 3-4 seconds, before the revs pick up..

any ideas?

All I have done, is change the conrod bearings.

the car was running normally before, I have changed oil, plugs and leads (including the HT lead to distributor).

the petrol filter has not been changed.. might try that i think?

check the vacuum hose from the back of the throttle body to the ECU. This needs to be exactly 1m long and MUST be in good condition. If it's not, the ECU won't know what the hell is going on and so won't be able to tell the engine what to do properly.

coolant temp and cam position sensors - both cheap to replace and worth the gamble
