Aye, that 5 pot certainly howls!

 

As for the mods, get your engine health checked first before draining the wallet. It would be good to know a healthy engine is receiving the mods as opposed to a tired one.

 

As an idea, when I bought mine 2 years ago, it put out a whopping 173 bhp on Stealth's rolling road. It turned out to be a £30 cam sensor that was dead and after replacing it the power rose to 200bhp with 193 lb/ft torque.....from a standard engine....so knowing the engine was good, I knew it would respond well to mods....and it did.

I thought mine was goin well till i got it to the rollors,it made 120bhp due to a sheared woodruff key on the cam wheel! 1 hour later,162bhp!

Interesting i'll have to get mine on rollers... Wheres the best place to go in the bristol area. Friends use Grant motor sport

ye, would be grant motorsport in brislington.

 

think its about £35 per hour to hire, or let them do it with a tune up for £50.. best to call them, they have a website, but its basic....

Don't bother with the de-cat- doesn't gain anything on the VR.

 

I'd start off with the breathing- get yourself a cold air intake. The BMC CDA is probably the best quality and will give you a good gain of 5-10bhp.
