Clutch Problems

Recommended Posts

The Clutch Pedal doesnt come back up,

it stay close to the bottom and have to lift it back up

with my foot.

When Reversing it's hard to take it back out of reverse,

Sometimes I have to turn the car off to get it out of reverse.

When in traffic, clutch control is almost Impossible,

as I loss the cluth all together

Any Idea Whats Wrong ?

either the master or slave cylinders has gone not a big job but i would have though it would be your master cylinder if the pedal is staying down,it was on mine.

Shame Ive just seen this post.

I have had the same problem on my G60 for 6 years. I changed the slave cylinder recently and that didn't cure it. I reckon it needs a master cylinder change which is what I am going to try next. I have managed to live with mine though. Just force it out of gear, slip the foot under the pedal and lift and it springs back up. Right as rain after that, until the next time it happens.

I hope you get some comfort in knowing that you are not alone! :?

Ng,

My valver used to do that, it was the master cylinder. I reckon the piston and cylinder had play in them causing it to jam at the end of its travel. Also look at the rod from the pedal to the cylinder(in footwell), you'll probably find its damp with clutch/brake fluid. If the seals and pistons are worn, some will leak back onto the rod.

cookem, 6 Years!!!!!!!!

I know. I'm a lazy sod.

To be honest, although it is a bit annoying as it does it at the most innappropriate times, like at traffic lights when your just about to pull away. A quick flick up with the foot and it's fine again.

I recently decided to do my car up as it was looking tatty. It is getting sprayed at this moment. When it's done I will be showing it off in the members gallery. At last I won't be embarrassed of my corrado!!

Don't tell the girlfriend how much Im spending on it though!!

Hi, I'm new in this forum... and that cluth problem is very common on corrados, not only in G60 (mine), but also in 16v... first, as the car was running ok, i ignored the problem in roder to save money... but some weeks later, the problem turned worse, as i couldn't switch the first gear. that was ok driving on open roads, but very uncomfortable in urban drives... when, i was about to change the slave cylinder (as i was adviced)... then the car couldn't switch the second also, and the third was turning almost impossible... I was driving on a 800 Km travel, and as i arrived home i had to park the car in the workshop... the problem was solved changing the master cylinder, wich is in the pedal.

Currently, tha car is ok, except for that cold morning when the car did the same for about 20 minutes... but that's all... didn't have any proble with that since then

Had exactly the same prob, got pretty tricky for hill stops/starts when you were continually lifting the clutch back up with your toes. Not good.

Mine was the slave by the way.

Its the cheaper of the two i believe?!!

Bad news guys,

The problem appeared again.... but this time it was the slave cylinder, (the cheaper)... it wasn't very expensive at all... but i noticed it could be much cheaper because it was the juncture that went wrong....

anyway... has someone any idea of what to do when someone in your neighbourhood wants you to rent a garage... since three months ago, the mirrors, windscreen wipers, the door keys, and the paint are appearing broken in the morning when i go to work.... :( but the police told me i couldn't put a camera in the balcony... so...the only way to catch him is saying all night asleep....
