Are these Mann filters sent by GSF okay?

Just got some service items from GSF mail order. They've sent me a Mann oil filter and air filter.

 

Are they what you'd call geniune not cheap crap? Does everyone else consider them okay?

Yes MANN are fine.

 

VAG swap around brands quite regularly, I've seen VR6 fuel filters from VAG made by Kaiser, MANN or KYB over the period of 2 years!

Just make sure that they've sent the right oil filter - there should be an internal valve very close to the top of the filter - this filter is unique to G60's.

Steve, they sent me a VW one first without the bolt on the bottom.

 

Now they've sent me this Mann one with bolt on bottom so must be G60 one right? I can see spring thing inside that could be a valve. :-) :-)

Yeah, that's it - quite close to the screw thread. All other VW screw-on filters have the valve much further inside the filter.

Yep MANNs have the requisite non-return valve.
