rossy t 0 Posted April 14, 2005 to solve the crashy ride on koni adj shocks & springs thats doing my nut in i just bought some H&R springs from NFS to be delivered shortly. after a good old search of the forum i have uncovered some threads about VR6 owners having to get new top plate mountings for the front? seeing as i own a 2l 16v will i have to get these to make them fit? what other components should i buy from GSF / VDub to replace at the same time while the garage is working on the car? im getting there slowly
Mike Edwards 0 Posted April 14, 2005 There are 3 different types of spring top plate, depending on model and year. Most of the aftermarket springs need the earlier types.
rossy t 0 Posted April 15, 2005 as the car already has koni shocks on i presume i do not need to renew the top plate then? thanks, ross.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 15, 2005 Depends what year your car is. H&R only make the springs with the larger top coil (early top plate). If your VR is a 92 or 93, you may not need the top plate. If you've got a 94 or 95, then you will.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted April 15, 2005 Oh yeah, so it is! In that case the H&R springs are blue (VR6 green) and should fit the top plates OK.
