Rustynuts 0 Posted May 4, 2005 Simple job really, the changing of a Lambda sensor on a G60. So when i get under the car i find that the thing moved slightly but not a lot. The car has a Cat bypass by the way. So decide that if i undo the 3 bolts connecting to the downpipe i would get better access by dropping the pipe down a bit. Still won't budge!! Thinking that i might remove the decat pipe, i try removing it but it does not want to budge from the rest of the exhaust. So i have left the car up in the air tonight as i have had enough of it. My next plan is to angle grind the top of the sensor off so i can then get a 22mm socket over it and use the breaker bar on it. Only problem is that the sensor is obviously cross threaded and whether i am going to get another one in there afterwards.
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted May 4, 2005 Drown it overnite in WD40 or diesel fuel to loosen it,then heat the sod with a blow torch(having first cleaned off any flammable residue) then try getting a plumbers wrench on it,i once had to do an escort cossie's lamda probe using that method, positivly welded in place...
