I know VW stopped the G60 production in 1992 - was this to do with the reliability issues with the supercharger? Supercharged 2 Posted May 29, 2005 Your right, it probably was to do with reliability and also the fact that the VR6 engine was ready for action so they basically replaced it... But, the G60 is a great engine and very reliable being an 8v it's easy to maintain and parts are cheap, as long as the charger is looked at at the correct intervals by a specialist like G-werks they will run and run, just budget upto £500 for a charger rebuilt if the car hasn't had one recently.
