Dr Forinor 0 Posted June 17, 2005 In which way does it make a difference? How are uprated engine mounts different from the OE ones?
golfg60 0 Posted June 17, 2005 My mounts were pretty bad, there was so much movement when pulling away hard. The uprated mounts are a lot firmer than the OE mounts and i would assume be able to take more power and last longer etc...
Dr Forinor 0 Posted June 17, 2005 But dont the uprated mounts cause more vibration through the dash?
golfg60 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I have heard that there is more vibration with them but to be honest i have only heard good things about them from people on here and most say that the vibration is hardly noticable. Having said that i didn't fit them so can't speak from experience. I reckon fitting uprated mounts can only be a good thing....
Dr Forinor 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I am only comparing them to something like uprated suspension kits (different idea I know) but you get where I am coming from. Living with uprated suspension is harder than living with stock suspension. I just want to make sure I make the right decision. I know it's not a big deal but when money becomes kinda tight, you wanna make sure you havent wasted it ya know.
golfg60 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Yeah, i hear you there mate! Thats why i stuck to the stock mounts...they do the job and i'm happy for now. When i go for a bhp increase i will probably upgrade. Isnt the front mount hydraulic on the VR6?
Dr Forinor 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I honestly havent a clue what it is, dont even know where it is yet, will have to check the Bentley manual when I get back from my weekend trip away. What a time to find out about something like this eh, instead of being able to totally enjoy and relax on the trip, I'll have the C at the back of my mind. Aaaahhh, the joys of having a 'Rado eh, lol
golfg60 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Tell me about it mate, i'm always working out how much money i have to put aside from my wages to pay for the corrado. I remember when my VR6 (golf nor corrado) front engine mount went i could see the fluid seeping out of it so knew pretty much what was wrong right Away. Have a good weekend mate anyways....
