Dub Style 0 Posted July 13, 2005 Okay so ive seen turbo'd supercharged vr's but yet to see a vr with throttle bodies i know it would be expensive as they are but if one thing the sound would be awesome as well as the gains i've heard they give big BHP increase. Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 13, 2005 Old news mate, do a google search, you'll find pics VR6 on throttle bodies Scroll down a bit too to see the green golf VR6 on TB's, look awesome Chris
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 14, 2005 I think this is beautiful, but would you have the heart to fit it looking like that? Chris
Dub Style 0 Posted July 15, 2005 so what sort of enginemanagement system would work with TB's
Stan 24v 0 Posted July 15, 2005 Im a bit of a muppet when it comes to things like this. How does it work? How much increase in performance would it produce?

Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 15, 2005 plenty of power woule be available with TB's but limited somewhat to the amount of air you can get into the engine. DTA Fast P8 Pro is one of the best ones to go for to run this setup as everything is adjustable, then you just need someone whom is familiar with it to set it up for the Corrado! Who could you find to do this? Vince at Stealth non the less! He's used them and likes them and is the man for VW's too so there's a good situation! Dub Style 0 Posted July 16, 2005 Chris VR6nosky, what sort of monies would managment like that cost?
Scruffythefirst 0 Posted July 16, 2005 if you go for Megasquirt - approx £200 all in Dta, autronic, pectel etc etc £500 - £3k+ However, the unequal length inlets may cause you problems, so you'd need something with the ability to trim individual cyl fuel req. Forced induction every time, unless you've got race regs to comply with. Oh, and modern fuel injected bikes are a good source of cheap TB's if your handy with the fabrication
PhatVR6 0 Posted July 16, 2005 you can get around the unequal inlets by fitting longer trumpets to the front bank. check out grant motorsport, he's the don for ITB's
Scruffythefirst 0 Posted July 16, 2005 you can get around the unequal inlets by fitting longer trumpets to the front bank. Yeah, but its not ideal as you have different pre /post butterfly port lengths and, especially if your using tapered TB's, it gets really complicated as the flow will be uneven but only at certain throttle positions. Probably not a big enough effect to worry about unless you're running higher compression ratios, cos your unlikely to do too much det damage on a standard engine, especially if you only put super unleaded in it. Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 16, 2005 the DTA P8Pro is the only one I know of that you can run each cylinder with different spatk timing on each cylinder and similarly adjust the ingector cycle to each too, this feature was built in for the certain race engines that some bikes and the odd racing car runs. Cost is £850inc Vat IIRC and they can supply injectors and other fancy stuff too and there is a silly amout of features and most are easy to work with, the hard part is knowing your stuff if you are going to do it yourself. Any one can set it up but setting it up well is a different story. Chris
Scruffythefirst 0 Posted July 16, 2005 Some pectel ecu's will do it too.
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 16, 2005 Is anyone going to do this mod then or what? Applepies for the poor quality and level of typing above! Tired eyes and body, ready for bed. Chris
