carpoid 0 Posted July 13, 2005 Mine is well scummy, wouldn't mind replacing it. Falling apart in places too. Anyone replaced this ?? Are the parts/spongey sections still available?? Is it glued on ?? Cheers Carps
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted July 14, 2005 Yes it's glued on and it's not easy to clean the remnants from the bonnet. I'm sure i remember someone on here saying about them getting the replacement foam pads from a dealer IIRC. Chris
dinkus 10 Posted July 14, 2005 Yeah, I asked my local stealers how much it was a few months ago. They said you can only buy it as a full set, so I say ok. They said it's £75, so I fall off my chair and don't bother...

chrishill 0 Posted July 14, 2005 what about cleaning it all off and sticking some dynamat under there? nice shiny finish and probably better soundproofing, although it'd make the already heavy bonnet even heavier, and i'm not sure how the foil would effect engine bay temperatures... Neil VR6 0 Posted July 14, 2005 Can't you buy a big slab of generic bonnet sound proofing that you can cut to size yourself? *edit* Just Google'd this website which might be useful: http://www.noisekiller.co.uk/materials.php
