Andy665 0 Posted July 17, 2005 Popped into Goodwood yesterday on the off chance that there was a Track Day. Spent an interesting hour or so observing, real mixed bag of cars out yesterday - the Goodwood Track Days always seem to have a very small number of cars so at £260 for the day I reckon you get a huge number of laps. Observations on the cars out yesterday: 993 and 996 Turbos - both very fast but only the 993 sounded like a proper 911 Integra - sounded great down th pit straight E46 M3 - wife summed it up - "That car looks so boring, wheres the drama and nice exhaust note" Caterhams / Westfields - all looked very quick and the drivers where the ones with the biggest grins after each session Honda S2000 - sounded awesome when the VTEC kicked in - pity it got stuffed into the tyres at Madgwick Escort van - running Cosworth turbo - looked odd on the track but went well Focus RS - obviously tweaked but did not sound at all happy and clearly needing a rolling road session if the smaoke out of the exhaust was anything to go by Porsche 968 - very subtle apart from very deep exhaust note - looked very stable and was pretty damned quick Clio 172 - sounded fantastic, real hard, metallic edge to it, sounded very much like my old Racing Puma. Looked very composed around Madgwick, even the wife who hates Clios was impressed CAR OF THE DAY - without a doubt the Clio, beginning to see why people rave about them now

john_wintle 0 Posted July 18, 2005 Bookatrack.co.uk is at Goodwood this coming Thursday (full though) and again at the end of September. They charge £195 for upto 40 cars, with upto 10 on the track at any one time. Some of the guys at the meet have done this with them Andy. Neil, the only way you will do it, is to say to people 'this is the track, date, time, price etc' and then people book it individually. Otherwise it would be a logistical/financial nightmare!
