funboxvr6 0 Posted July 19, 2005 Hi All, I have an ‘interesting’ (ahem) fuel leak problem on my VR6. Fuel filter was changed at last service. Since then I’ve been having this problem. If the car has been sitting unused for a week or so on starting up I get fuel p!ssing out from around the fuel filter, this stops after approx 5 minutes. The problem doesn’t reappear until the car has been sat for a few days unused again, A mechanic friend of mine has also had a look, we’ve changed the hose clips for jubilees etc but it still happens. What I don’t get is why does it only happen if the car has been left for a few days? Could there be fuel pooling somewhere over time which then gets forced up the line the next time the fuel pump switches on at start up. This fuel then finding a leak which doesn’t normally leak?!? Surely if the fuel line was split it would leak all the time? Any help much appreciated dudes.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 19, 2005 Either the flexible fuel hoses are shot or the filter is.....everything else is sealed.
