is my wheel going to fall off

a bit back i noticed a knocking coming from the passenger side front wheel on full lock to the right when im reversing. its got a bit worse and now there is a sqeak when i am going really slow. i think its my out cv joint. any ideas?

prob the cv joint, but does the wheel move, crab it with two hads and puch with one and pull with the other.

if it moves it could be the wheel bearing

but no your wheel is not going to fall off!! cv joints alway get worse going in reverse i have no idea why!

the wheel does move. but i think its the cv . had bearing go on something else before and it wasnt like this.

g60griff, Easy'ish way to check for certain is to remove the front wheel & also the front brakepads. It will then be obvious if the bearing has "gone".

 

Hold the hub at the top & at the bottom (not at the sides), if there's any movement - it's the bearing.
