sciroccotune 0 Posted August 1, 2005 Hi Guys, Well its not all bad news today as my rado passed her MOT 8) But I was advised that there is some movement on the drivers side wheel due to the steering rack. Does anyone have a picture of the joint of the tie rod to the rack? Or is it a complete unit and I will bee needing a new rack? Cheers chaps
roo 0 Posted August 1, 2005 Hope this helps mate Assuming that your rack's not worn, new tie rods just screw into the end.
dr_mat 0 Posted August 1, 2005 I'm confused as to how the steering rack can cause movement on one side only.. I would say it's more likely to be the track rods.
sciroccotune 0 Posted August 1, 2005 Thanks guys, that does help!! I’m hoping its just the rod to be honest , way way easier to replace. @roo – perfect picture mate cheers found these: Eurocarparts
Supercharged 2 Posted August 1, 2005 Yep, it'll be the trackrods or the ends, should be able to tell where the play is by feel... New rods are an arse to change, have a search on here for info...
