Critical_Mass 10 Posted August 8, 2005 Can anyone tell me of an easier way to get the tensioner shock absorber back onto where it is fixed on the alternator??? Ive tried pushing it down but with no luck. Ive tried putting the belt on first then the shock absorber. Supercharged 2 Posted August 8, 2005 Various methods... you could try and see if your dealer will lend you the tool also... If not - 2 Jubilee clips to take the tension out.. Or the way i've done it is to use a plastic dumbell weight with someone else pushing it down onto the tensioner... Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
