can a leaking inlet manifold gasket cause idle hunting?

im having issues with the running of my G60 and have read today of possibly that a leaking inlet manifold gasket can cause a hunting idle, but would it cause it to hunt even when driving?

Yep, unmetered air will be coming in - If you suspect the gasket spray some WD40 down there and see if the idle picks up...
