hooray all is not lost - lysholm

Recommended Posts

Right then I have taken said lysholm apart and all is not lost, the charger is fine (ie hasnt seized, it is the pulley thingy that snapped, much the same as a bottom bolt (see pics) but best of all my father in law is a CNC specialist and should be able to machine me a new piece within the next couple of days, so the car will be back up and running.

I will not be selling the car just yet but will in the next 6months as I want a 20v now so once its backup and running if anyone is interested, let me know

funny thing is took the part to my father in law and he said the break is from sheer torque, not from fatique or poor metal. just a bit concerned as the diameter is the same diameter as a g60 shaft so it should take the power.

it only happend after I fitted water injection!!!

Could be because the air is now denser, thus puts more load on the shaft?

Just a guess tho, I'm no doctor...

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with bahn brenner, I spent an hour shatting with John Betz the managing director last night through email showing picture of the broken shaft on my lysholm

and he is going to supply me the parts to fix it and put the proper bahn brenner drive on it so it doesnt snap again, I know he is selling me stuff, but even so to spend a hour looking at the pics I had sent of my lysholm,

to determine whether it would all work is pretty sorted
