noisey tapets

hi every so often when i start my c you can hear the tapets for a few seconds but the other day it lasted about five mins. Going to service it v soon. other wise any one know around how much would cost to sort them out? cheers for any info or advice

 

you guys have some sweet c`s going for the less is more look my self hopefully engine swap as soon as get some real cash

i have a noisy tappet problem on my vr

but curiously its quiet from cold and is only noisy when warmed up

have changed oil from mobil 0/40 to magnatec 15/40 and since then it is slightly better

Sign of dirty oil. Not unusual if the engine is up past 75k miles. Sometimes helps to put in an engine oil flush additive just before the service and run for 50 miles. Then make oil changes more frequent than 10K.

If you haven't oil pressure meter fitted, suggest it's checked sometime. Idle when fully warm - 95' to 98'C oil temp, should be 2 bar; 3,000 rpm 3.5 to 4 bar with 15W40 in the sump.
