Yandards 0 Posted September 7, 2005 I have a 'spare' 16v box laying at the back of my garage and am trying to find out if I can put the 5th gear from a 'box from a G60 as a straight swap into the 16v 'box. I am of course assuming that the 5th on a G60 is longer than the 16v equivelent. I have a 'friend' who has access to ETKA but have no idea what all the z=42/30 crap is so any pointers would be appreciated! Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted September 7, 2005 I don't think that the g60's 5th is much taller than a 16v's 1,if you want a tall 5th ratio try getting hold of the 5th cogs inside a "ASD" code golf 3 gt tdi 'box. Let me know what code your car's gearbox has and i'll dig out a few spare cogs left over from varios old 02As and send you some photos of both.
