g60greeny 0 Posted September 20, 2005 right,i've just got home from footy training,on the drive home i was listening to my tunes when i heared a strange sound over the music so i turned the music off and the sound was coming from the passenger side front wheel,it sounds like somethings rubbing/grateing?its worse when the wheel is straight or turn to the right, but if you turn the wheel to the left it stops?could it be my bearing?took it for another run to my mates and i could hardly hear the sound? Guest Posted September 21, 2005 Could well be the drive shaft splindes need lubing.. Sounds funny i know, but i had the same symptoms with my VR when i first bought it. Couldn't see anything rubbing, but had the noise. Took it to my local specialist, he knew exactly what it was. But it on the ramp, undid the driveshaft nut, knocked it through, then just greased the splinde in the hub. Bolted it all back up, and the noise disappeard... HTH Steve Now why can't I have a specialist in my area as good as that  Sorry for offtopic guys, just had to vent about not having somewhere close enough to take my baby to when it needs special attention!! g60griff 0 Posted September 21, 2005 might be the outer cv joint? does it click on full lock?
RACK 0 Posted September 21, 2005 Check the bearing and hub. Mine did this and after a couple of days (I had to wait till I got paid) the drive shaft bolt shot off!!
chrishill 0 Posted September 21, 2005 how new are your brake pads? maybe they're worn and catching? might sound like a silly/obvious suggestion but its better to ask than assume!

If there was gravel where you parked up for footy, then that is the most likely scenario. Happens to me a lot aswell. You know when it happens as the noise is very loud and gets quieter the faster you go.
