Jim 2 Posted October 5, 2005 Just been making some enquiries into a replacement cat for my MK4 TDI as John from Stealth pointed out a hole in it when my car was on the ramps up there last. Prices for the MK4 petrol engines are pretty alarming and I expected the TDI to be equal to, or even more than the petrol ones. Turns out that TDI's don't have a cat as such - Ade from Awesome GTI called it a 'soot collector' - turns out I can get a Milltek downpipe with the gubbins included for £125 inc VAT etc! Bargain! Not used to NOT having to gather myself up off the floor when been told parts prices.. I tell ya, this diesel thing does have its perks :) Just waiting on a PM from JMR to see if he can do them at similar / better prices or not!

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 5, 2005 Diesels have particulate filters IIRC....but double check your VIN number against the VW parts system to be sure.
