samg60 0 Posted October 9, 2005 Hi There, can anyone help me, I recently purchased a second had silencer kit from someone in the states and have installed it on my car (golf g60 front mount intercooler), I did not recieve the installation instructions, but everything seems very striaght forward. however after fitting the kit, I started the car and the car will not idle correctly, it just bounces off idle between 1,000 rpma nd 2,500 rpm, I have checked all the vacum hoses and everything is good, inlcluding the ecu vacum hose and teh vacum hose which goes to the recirc valve. I am a little lost as to what is wrong here and also wondered if I had missed something important with regards the setup. any help much appreciated

W3RKD 0 Posted October 9, 2005 where does the map sensor measure from now then ?
samg60 0 Posted October 9, 2005 Hi Darren the MAP Sensor now reads from a blocked off boost return, ie the boost return is blocked off with a small outlet for the MAP sensor.

samg60 0 Posted October 9, 2005 why would you want to stop it escaping??? trust me when youve had this kit for more than a month or two, the novelty of having your car sound like an F15 crossed with a fire engine soon wears off, especially when running silly pulley sizes.
