Aus 0 Posted October 25, 2005 Reading the forum, sounds like I need to check my blue temp sensor. I'm a bit dim but if I pull out the blue plug, loads of coolant pours out ... is there an easy way (bar finding a cork to stuff up there!) to stop this, or is it inevitable, or am I pulling out the wrong thing?! Walesy 0 Posted October 25, 2005 make sure you do it first thing in the morning mate...when the car's been sat for ages....then it shopuldn't be too bad.,...and be quick!.
Aus 0 Posted October 25, 2005 And ... I read that with the engine running, you disconnect the blue sensor and if the egine runs rough then it's working. But how do you disconnect?
Supercharged 2 Posted October 25, 2005 You just need to disconnect the wiring plug to it, also blue coloured - just squeeze the metal clip to release it...
Aus 0 Posted October 25, 2005 Thanks - just tried it and made no difference to the idle so I guess I should get a new sensor?
Supercharged 2 Posted October 25, 2005 Yep, your engine will constantly be in timing mode and running flat! You can also measure the resistance across the pins on the sensor, very high or no reading then it proves it's knackered!
