Gear change linkage - How does it work??

Hello all

 

I'm working on a uni project to design concepts for gear change systems, to do this we've decided to research existing linkages. I was just wandering if anyone could tell me how the linkage on a rado is setup and if you've got any pics / diagrams that would be great.
