Dubsingh 0 Posted November 28, 2005 Hi all I have a vr6 in my rallye. but recently have had a right mare with it. the take off drive standard from the standard 02c gave up the ghost along with the damaged dougnut. i had a right dilema trying to source a new drive. so my question is what 4 wheel drive gear box will be compatible with the vr6 block? i was thinking about the mk4 golf 4 motion set up... 1) will it fit 2) will i need a matching rear diff or can i keep the standard rallye diff 3) any one got a 2.9 vr lump for sale (ABV code) :? :?:

PhatVR6 0 Posted November 29, 2005 the transfer box is matched to the rear diff. if your car is the one I'm thinking it is (blue RHD one with corrado dash?) then it actually has a rallye gearbox, transfer box and rear diff, with a vr6 syncro bellhousing. VR6 syncro and rallye diffs are not the same, neither are the transfer boxes. how about you buy an 02m 6 speed, prop and haldex diff off me! not a direct fit by any means, but it will bolt up to your engine ok, and if you know a man who can shorten driveshafts and props and fabrocate a diff mount then you'll be sorted (well, apart from the diff controller but that's another subject in itself)
