vwcorrado 0 Posted November 28, 2005 hey lads, i need to know something. my vr6 engine is a transplant, but in the process of it being wired in some clutz has failled to hook up the diag sockets (under the gear gaiter) . question is can i take my ECU out and have it tested for any faults? or would it have to be in the motor and still hooked up to all the sensors. :?: Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
RW1 0 Posted November 28, 2005 If you mean the fault memory that VAG-COM looks at, then it will loose the fault codes on loosing 12 volt power. If you mean testing the ECU on a repairer's workbench, then that is down to how good their set up is and will only test the ECU itself internally. .
