Baz2004 0 Posted December 25, 2005 My 16V is currently quite jumpy in low gears, 1st or 2nd rev over 3000 and lift off it gets very jumpy. If I throw in the clutch it evens out, I don’t notice any slipping up hills or through the gears its only on lift off in low gears. Is it possible that its slipping on lift off? I’ve recently rebuilt the engine and put in a solid front mount and a set of coilovers with a 50mm drop. I don’t have poly bushes but all new bushes in the front and new wishbones. Would any of these upgrades be causing this problem?
sciroccotune 0 Posted December 26, 2005 did you poly the front cross member? guess it could be transmitting more through the frame with the solid mount (but i dont remember mine doing it). is it jumpy on pul away? my brothers car was like this and a cluch bleed solved it. Baz2004 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Its not too bad on pull away, I was thinking about bleeding the clutch in the new yr. Theres no poly bushes in the front end, I just replaced the OEM stuff. I may go poly down the line but not if its going to If its going to turn the car into buckaroo !
sciroccotune 0 Posted December 26, 2005 i had oe and didnt really get a jump much, guess you should look at the other mounts. my rear one was/is not much cop and it still showed with solid front.
Baz2004 0 Posted December 26, 2005 Yeah I might go with a TDI front mount in the new yr see if it helps. I thought it may have been a tight throttle cable but putting in the clutch makes it even which rules that one out.
